Author Name: Neena Rao (PhD) | Format: Hardcover | Genre : Young Adult Nonfiction | Other Details

Art and creativity are potent healing tools for special needs children

Demonstrating feelings through creative pursuits is a beautiful opportunity for special-needs children to connect with their emotions. It’s also a proven process to reduce their anxiety and stress.

Mindscapes, explores the role of artistic expression as a powerful healing tool. Entries include a variety of artistic mediums; poetry, paintings, sketches, stories etc. and brings together the thoughts, emotions and perceptions of these young minds; children and young adults with special needs.

The themes of these art pieces are a sincere expression of ideas that explore the heartfelt stories of children and young adults with special needs. The essays are by the children themselves, as well by their family members, sibling, and parents to let the reader peep into the world of the families of special children.

‘Meraki’, a Greek word for something done with creativity, effort and a lot of love to reveal the essence of the soul. It is a platform for a virtual talent show which furthers Margikas’ endeavour of showcasing the self-expression of individuals with special needs in an effort to bring out the essence of their being.

The work in this book is entirely their own vision, unadulterated by the interpretations of others.
